The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Computing is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the computing sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications
aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.

 

Graduates successfully completing the Pearson BTEC Higher National Certificate in Computing will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic concepts of computing. They will be able to communicate accurately and appropriately and they

What is Springboard+?

The springboard+ upskilling initiative in higher education offers free courses at certificate, degree and masters level leading to qualifications in areas where there are employment opportunities in the economy.

Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employ-ability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020..

 

Who could take this qualification?

This qualification is for all learners aged 18+ and 19+ who are capable of reaching the required standards. Learners do not need any prior qualifications, knowledge or experience before starting the qualification however they are likely to be employed in an operational, technician, associate professional or operational/departmental management role; already have core occupational competence and knowledge within the sector, but are aspiring to progress to middle management level.
